Richard R. Womack Jr. was sworn into office on the Delaware County Council in January 2022, where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman. Destined to live a life of service, Richard was groomed by his late mother, Mattie Womack, and father Richard Womack, Sr., to fight against injustices and stand up for the rights of working-class people.

 

A graduate of Darby Township High School, Richard studied political science at Mansfield State College. Richard later graduated from the Negro Trade Union Leadership Council, the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute, and the prestigious National Labor College.

 

During his 25-year tenure as a leader in the Labor Industry, Richard holds his most notable achievement was working with the U.S.Congress to pass the American Disabilities Act. As a member of Delaware County Council he has continued his commitment to public service with integrity and fidelity.
